How to Create & Manage Marketing Campaigns

Build, launch, monitor, and optimize marketing campaigns with AI-assisted workflows

What You'll Learn

Create a new marketing campaign
Set objectives, channels, and budget
Configure audience targeting
Understand campaign statuses
Use AI agents for campaign strategy
Monitor campaign performance
Edit and pause active campaigns
Allocate budget across channels

Prerequisites: You need access to the Marketing Suite and at least one ad platform connected. For AI-assisted campaign strategy, a Professional tier or above is recommended.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Create a New Campaign

Start a new campaign from the Marketing Command Center:

  • Navigate to Marketing → Campaigns
  • Click "Create Campaign" in the top right
  • Enter a campaign name that clearly describes its purpose (e.g., "Q2 Token Launch - Social Push")

Tip: Use a consistent naming convention across campaigns. Include the quarter, product, and primary channel for easy filtering later.

2

Set Your Campaign Objective

Select the primary goal that will drive your campaign's optimization:

Brand Awareness

Maximize reach and impressions

Lead Generation

Drive signups, downloads, or form fills

Conversions

Optimize for purchases or token sales

Engagement

Maximize likes, comments, and shares

3

Choose Channels and Set Budget

Select which channels to activate and allocate your budget:

  • Select channels: Check the boxes for each platform — Meta, Google, TikTok, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or Influencer partnerships
  • Set total budget: Enter the overall campaign spend. IPX will suggest a split across channels based on your objective and historical performance
  • Adjust allocation: Override the suggested split by dragging the budget sliders for each channel, or enter specific amounts
4

Configure Targeting

Define who your campaign should reach:

  • Demographics: Age range, gender, location, language
  • Interests: Select from predefined interest categories or enter custom keywords
  • Custom audiences: Upload existing audience lists or create lookalikes from your connected platforms
  • Schedule: Set start and end dates, or run continuously

AI Assist: Click "Suggest Targeting" to let the Strategy Director agent analyze your objective and recommend targeting parameters based on your project's audience data.

5

Use AI Agents for Campaign Strategy

Before launching, use AI agents to refine your campaign:

  • Strategy Review: Click "AI Strategy Review" to have the Strategy Director evaluate your campaign setup and suggest improvements
  • Content Generation: Use the Content Specialist to generate ad copy, headlines, and creative variations
  • Budget Optimization: The Media Buyer agent can recommend bid strategies and budget pacing
6

Launch and Monitor Performance

Once satisfied with your setup, launch the campaign and track results:

  • Click "Launch Campaign" to set it live
  • View real-time metrics on the campaign detail page: impressions, clicks, spend, and ROAS
  • Edit targeting, budget, or creative while the campaign is running — changes apply within minutes
  • Pause the campaign at any time if you need to make major adjustments

Campaign Statuses

Every campaign moves through these lifecycle stages:

Draft

Campaign is being configured. Not yet live.

Planning

AI agents are generating strategy. Awaiting review.

Active

Campaign is live and spending budget.

Paused

Temporarily stopped. Can be resumed.

Completed

End date reached or budget spent. Read-only.

Archived

Removed from active views. Data preserved.

Best Practices

Run an AI Strategy Review before launching

The Strategy Director catches common mistakes like mismatched objectives and targeting, and suggests optimizations you might miss.

Start with a short test phase

Run your campaign for 3–5 days with a limited budget before scaling. Use the initial data to optimize targeting and creative.

Monitor budget pacing daily for the first week

Underspending means your targeting is too narrow. Overspending means your bid caps are too high. Adjust early.

Archive completed campaigns promptly

Keep your campaigns list clean by archiving completed campaigns. Their data is fully preserved and accessible in the archive view.

Troubleshooting

Campaign stuck in 'Planning' status

Problem: You launched the campaign but it stays in Planning and never goes Active.

Solution:

The Planning status means AI agents are generating strategy:

  • Check the AI Strategy Review panel for any pending approval items
  • If strategy generation takes more than 10 minutes, try refreshing the page
  • You can skip AI planning by clicking "Launch Without Review" if available
  • Check your AI token usage — strategy generation fails silently at the limit

Campaign not spending budget

Problem: The campaign is Active but spend remains at $0 after several hours.

Solution:

Check these common causes:

  • Verify your ad platform connection is healthy (not expired)
  • Audience targeting may be too narrow — try broadening demographics
  • Bid cap may be set too low for the competitive landscape
  • Some platforms take 24–48 hours for ads to pass review

Can't edit an Active campaign

Problem: Some fields appear locked on an Active campaign.

Solution:

Certain fields are locked to protect campaign integrity:

  • Campaign objective cannot be changed after launch — create a new campaign instead
  • Budget, targeting, creative, and schedule can always be edited
  • Pause the campaign first if you need to make extensive changes
  • Changes to budget and targeting propagate to platforms within 5–15 minutes
