How to Set Up Your Wallet

Configure your embedded wallet and secure your assets

What is an Embedded Wallet?

IPX uses Coinbase Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) to provide you with a secure, non-custodial wallet that's automatically created when you sign up. You don't need any crypto knowledge or browser extensions - it just works! Your wallet is secured by your IPX account and you maintain full control of your private keys.

Overview

Your IPX wallet is automatically created when you sign up. Unlike traditional crypto wallets, you don't need to install browser extensions or manage seed phrases immediately. However, we strongly recommend backing up your recovery phrase as soon as possible.

What Can You Do With Your Wallet?

  • Purchase and hold IP tokens
  • Receive revenue distributions from projects
  • Trade tokens on the DEX
  • Withdraw funds to external wallets or bank accounts

Automatic Wallet Creation

1

Sign Up for IPX

When you create your IPX account (via email or Google OAuth), a wallet is automatically created for you in the background. You don't need to do anything!

2

Wallet Initialization

Your wallet is initialized on the Base L2 blockchain, which means fast and low-cost transactions. The wallet address is unique to you and tied to your IPX account.

3

Ready to Use

That's it! Your wallet is ready to use. You can now add funds, purchase tokens, and start investing.

How to View Your Wallet

1

Navigate to Wallet Page

Click on your profile picture or username in the top right corner, then select "Wallet" from the dropdown menu.

Shortcut: You can also navigate directly to /wallet

2

View Your Wallet Address

Your wallet address is displayed at the top of the page. It looks something like:

0x742d...8A9C

Tip: Click the copy icon to copy your full address to clipboard.

3

Check Your Balances

You'll see several balances on your wallet page:

  • $
USD Balance: Your deposited fiat currency (credit card, bank transfer)
  • Ξ
ETH Balance: Native crypto for transaction fees (Base L2)
  • 🎬
IP Tokens: All your project tokens with current values

Backup & Recovery Phrase

Critical: Back Up Your Recovery Phrase!

Your recovery phrase is the ONLY way to restore your wallet if you lose access to your account. Without it, your funds could be permanently lost. We do not store your recovery phrase and cannot recover it for you.

1

Navigate to Wallet Settings

On your wallet page, click the "Settings" or "Security" tab.

2

View Recovery Phrase

Click "Reveal Recovery Phrase". You'll be prompted to verify your identity (password or 2FA).

Security Warning: Only view your recovery phrase in a private, secure location. Never share it with anyone, including IPX support staff.

3

Write It Down

Your recovery phrase is 12-24 words. Write them down on paper in the exact order shown.

Best Practices:

  • Write on paper (don't type or screenshot)
  • Make multiple copies
  • Store in a secure location (safe, safety deposit box)
  • Keep copies in different physical locations
  • Never share with anyone
4

Verify Your Backup

IPX will ask you to verify your backup by selecting a few words from your recovery phrase in the correct order. This ensures you've written it down correctly.

Understanding Your Balance

💵

USD Balance (Fiat)

This is your deposited fiat currency. You can use it to:

  • • Purchase IP tokens
  • • Buy sponsorship slots
  • • Withdraw to your bank account
Ξ

ETH Balance (Gas)

Small amount of ETH for transaction fees (gas) on Base L2. IPX automatically provides a small gas stipend, so you usually don't need to worry about this.

🎬

  • • Profit/loss (P&L)
  • • Quick trade actions
